2009 Aurora Tournament Champions - Dixie U13 Boys All-Stars
Aurora Allstar Tournament:
After winning three finalist trophies it was very exciting to see these hard working group of boys win the Championship trophy. In the peliminary rounds we started off strong Saturday morning and beat Brampton 3-0, then we faced UMSC and won 2-0 and the last game of the day was West Toronto santos FC and they won again 3-1.
Finishing first in our pool we were off to play the second place team in the other pool which was Peterborough, we fought hard through that game scoring early on in the game we made off with a 1-0 win.
The next team we faced in the finals was Brampton, our rivals this year which we have played 3 finals against and until today we had not beat them in a final game. Dixie came out strong again scoring very early and then scoring one more in the first half. The boys game out even stronger in the second half scoring 3 more, giving us a 5-0 win over Brampton.
The coaching staff is very proud of all the hard work and commitement that this group of 12 and 13 year old boys have given this year and of course the constant support of their parents.
Dixie U17 Girls All Star Winners
"Congratulations to the Dixie U-17 All-Star "Juvies" - winners at the Mississauga Falcons All-Star tournament August 8th and 9th. The girls, coached by Richard Ponsonby and Scott Warrick, went undefeated in the tournament.
The team picked up some nice trophies - including the big one that will reside in the Dixie clubhouse,
after making a tour of the girls' homes. Go Juvies!
