REGISTRATION
Deadline: April 16th, 2010
- Up to 22 players on a roster are allowed; up to 18 players can dress for any given game
- Players must be 18 years of age or older as of Jan 1st, 2010
- All Men’s games will be played on Friday’s at 7:00pm or 9:00pm and Sundays at 1:00pm, 3:00pm, 5:00pm, 7:00pm, 9:00pm
- All Ladies games will be played on Sundays at 1:00pm, 3:00pm, 5:00pm, 7:00pm, 9:00pm and Mondays at 7:00pm or 9:00pm
- Registration will take place at the Dixie Soccer Club at the following address:

Time: 7:30pm
All teams must be represented at all meetings called by the Senior
Director. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary actions, ie:
$35.00 fine to the team. Each team will forward three names and phone
numbers of persons that will represent their team. Launch meeting will
start on time. No excuses will be accepted.
At the launch meeting, team representatives will receive:
- Team Uniforms (18 full sets, 1 GK set (1 extra penny with #)
- 3 Balls and mesh ball bag
- Copy of Rules and Code of Conduct
- Schedules
- Game sheets
COST
Teams can register 1 of 2 ways;
1. If a team representative registers and pays for all players at
one time, the one time team fee will be $4,500 for up to 22 players.
2. Individuals from a particular team may register ‘one by one’ whereby
A. Players registering for a particular team via ‘one by one’, will
pay $250 per registration. Once the team registration exceeds the team
rate of $4,500, the difference will be credited back to the team after
the team bond has been collected.
B. Teams with players registering ‘one by one’ that fall short of
the team rate of $4,500 (i.e. 16 players registered x $250 per =
$4,000. $500 short of team fee) will have to pay the difference in the
team fee, plus provide a cheque for the team bond before being accepted
into the Senior’s League.
PROTECTED PLAYER LIST
For teams registering ‘one by one’, the team captain or representative
must forward a ‘protected list’ of players to the DSC Senior’s
Director.
These ‘protected players’ must advise the league office upon arrival of
their team name and team representative at the time of registration. If
they do not, they could be placed on other teams.
NOTE: The deadline for registration is April 16th, after this date all
‘protected players list’ will become null and void and the DSC will
begin to fill teams as they feel fit to complete roster requirements.
Any outstanding amounts will be charged and payment required prior to
the start of the season.
- Individuals not on any particular team will register as an independent player at the cost of $250 each.
- Payments accepted: Visa, M/C, Debit, Cash and Cheques (Cheques to be made out to: Dixie Soccer Club.
- Each
team must provide a $300 TEAM BOND dated Aug 29th. A deduction of $100
from team bond will take effect for every non-communicated game no show
- Player
cards are in affect for the 2010 season therefore passport photos of
each player are MANDATORY and must be accompanied with their
registration form to deem the process completed
CODE OF CONDUCT
This Code of Conduct identifies the standard of behavior, which is
expected of all Club members, including players, coaches, parents,
directors, officials, managers and volunteers.
The Dixie Soccer Club (DSC) is committed to providing a sports
environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and
integrity. Members of the DSC shall conduct themselves at all times in
a fair and responsible manner. Members shall refrain from comments or
behaviors that are disrespectful, offensive, abusive, racist or sexist.
In particular, the DSC will not tolerate behavior that constitutes
harassment or abuse.
During the course of all DSC activities and events, members shall avoid
behavior, which brings the Club or the sport of soccer into disrepute,
including but not limited to abusive use of alcohol and non-medical
drugs.
It is the belief of the DSC that all Club Members will conduct themselves in a manner that:
1. Respect all officials, opponents during and after play, representative other soccer clubs, parents, players and coaches
2. Promotes fair play and skill development
3. Enhances the reputation of the DSC, and
4. Adds to the enjoyment of the game for all participants
The DSC expects that the standards of behavior outlined in this Code of Conduct to be followed by everyone.
Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct may result in the member
losing privileges that come with membership in the DSC, including the
opportunity to participate in activities.
Participants and spectators shall at all times treat others with
respect and dignity. Harassing or intimidating a game official will not
be tolerated. Team Captain or Coach is responsible for the conduct of
his or her team and spectators.
Failure to do so will be subject to disciplinary action.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
GAME RULES
MANDATORY- Game sheets must be completed and presented to the referee
at a minimum of 10 minutes prior to kick off. Only persons on the game
sheet are allowed on the team bench.
Only registered players are permitted to play. Any team playing an
ineligible player will result in a $100 fine and the opposing team will
be awarded a 5-0 win for that particular game.
Both teams are responsible to provide a game ball to the officials prior to kick off.
Referees will review player equipment and team gear prior to kick off.
Failure to represent similar team apparel or unauthorized gear (i.e.
running shoes, no shin guards, etc) will result in no play for that
player.
ALL teams must wear the uniforms provided by the DSC, no other uniforms
will be allowed, no players will be able to play any game with out
wearing the teams allotted uniform.
All teams may be register up to 22 players, but can only dress a
maximum of 18 players for any one game. Any players NOT on the game
sheet can NOT be on the team bench.
Teams may assign one Captain per game which will act as the team’s spokesperson and liaison with the game officials.
NOTE: Teams must be ready to play at the scheduled kick off time. At
the head referee’s discretion, the game official may start the game
clock at the scheduled kick off time even if one or both teams are not
prepared to start UNLESS a team does not have the minimum required
number of players (7) needed to compete in any given game, in this
case, there will be a 15 minute grace period given, at the completion
of this grace period, if the minimum number of players required is met,
time will start at the referee’s discretion. IF the minimum number of
players required to play is NOT met, the game will be abandoned and the
opposing team will be rewarded with a 3 points and 3-0 win.
DURATION OF GAMES
The duration of league games shall be in accordance with the following:
LEAGUE GAMES
Two 45-minute halves, no overtime period.
All games will be played with a running clock. The referee may stop the
clock for serious injuries or other incidents. The referee is the
official timekeeper and therefore all decisions regarding game duration
are solely at the referee’s discretion and shall not be protested.
SUBSTITUTIONS
A. Unlimited substitutions may be made with the referee's permission:
- After a goal has been scored;
- At the beginning of the second half of play or prior to the beginning of an overtime period;
- At a goal kick by either team; or
- At a throw in by the team in possession. (teams may “piggy back”)
- In case of stoppage of play for an injury
B. Under no circumstances may substitutions be made (1) on corner
kicks or (2) after the game has ended in a tie and FIFA penalty kicks
will be required to determine a winner.
GAME AND SCORE REPORTING
SCORES AFTER EVERY GAME ARE TO BE E-MAILED BY A TEAM REPRESENTATIVE TO:
dixiesoccerclub@rogers.com; within 24hrs of game completion in order to
ensure standings are updated on a weekly basis.
*It is also the responsibility of the Referee to deliver the completed
and signed game sheet to the appropriate official (Senior Director). In
case of a discrepancy, the Official Game Report Form, signed by the
referee, prevails.
CONDUCT
A. Players, coaches, and spectators are expected to conduct themselves
within the Laws of the game. Displays of temper or dissent are cause
for ejection from the game and the surrounding field area. Repeated
violations may result in the suspension of the team from the League as
decided by the Senior’s Director.
B. Players and/or coaches ejected from a game by the referee shall be ineligible for the next scheduled game.
C. It is the responsibility of the team captain or the person acting in
the captain’s behalf to control the conduct of his team and their team
spectators. Failure to do so may result in a warning to the captain or
the person acting in the captain's behalf by the referee. If
unacceptable conduct continues, the referee may eject the team's
captain, or the person acting in the captain's behalf, from the game.
D.Alcoholic beverages and cigarette smoking are not permitted at any of the field sites.
DIVISION CHAMPIONS
All teams will be assigned to a division, and there will be a champion in each determined upon the point system below;
For each match, a team will be awarded points, as follows:
1. Three points for a win;
2. One point for a tie;
3. Zero points for a loss;
In any division where there is a tie, the following tie-breaker will be used to determine the 1st & 2nd positions only:
1. Winner of head-to-head competition;
2. Team with most wins;
3. Team with greatest aggregate goal differential determined by
adding from each match the net difference of goals scored and goals
given. The maximum goal differential per match is three;
4. Team with the least total actual goals against in its matches;
5. If teams remain tied once all tie breaks have been deemed even, a
penalty shutout, at a location designated by the Senior Director, will
determine the winner
If three or more teams tie, the preceding tie-breaker will be used to
eliminate one team, after which the remaining teams begin the tie
breaker process again. As long as more than two teams remain tied, the
head-to head tie breaker is not used.
TIE BREAKER
At the end of scheduled time for the match, teams will go directly to
kicks from the penalty mark, the best of 5 penalty kicks by 5 different
players on each team will be held on a designated goal determined by
the referee. If teams are still tied after each of the initial 5
players have taken their penalties, then alternating penalty kicks
(sudden death) by rest of the players on the field at the end of the
overtime period who have not already taken a penalty shot will
determine the winner.
FAILURE TO SHOW AND FORFEITS
A. A team shall be allowed a fifteen (15) minute grace period after
the scheduled kick-off time before the match is awarded to their
opponent. A minimum of seven (7) players constitutes a team and if (7)
players are present; the game will not be delayed.
B. $300 team bond cheque post dated for Aug 29th, 2010 will be
deducted $100 for every time a team fails to show for any league or
league playoff game without one week prior notice from game day
C. In no case shall a team, which forfeits a game, be declared a
division winner. If an apparent group winner forfeits a game, the team
in that group with the next best record shall be named the group
winner. In addition, in divisions where the second place team of one
group plays the first place team of another group in the semi-final
game, in no case shall a team, which has forfeited a game, be declared
the second place team in a group. The team with the next best record in
the division shall be declared the second place team and play in the
semi-final game.
D. If a team is the cause for termination of a game, that team will
be considered to have forfeited that game. The determination as to
which team is the cause for the termination shall be at the sole
discretion of the referee on the field and the decision may not be
protested.
E. A forfeit shall be awarded to the opposing team as three (3)
points for a win. The score for all forfeited games will be recorded as
a 3-0 result.
F. Forfeits of a semi-final or championship game shall be recorded as 1-0.
G. Playing a “red-carded player” (a player receiving either a red
card or two yellow cards in one game) in the game following the receipt
of a red card or two yellow cards in the same game is grounds for a
forfeit of that game and suspension of that player upon review by the
Senior’s Director.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
In the event of inclement weather, the Senior Director or official representative(s) will have the authority to:
1. Relocate or reschedule any game(s);
2. Change the duration of any game(s);
3. Cancel any League game(s);
4. A game is deemed to be complete if 25% or less remains un-played
when called off by a game official due to weather or playing conditions
or for any other reason as the referee sees fit.
GENERAL
A. The DSC will do its best to schedule a full season of games for
each team. However, at the Senior’s Director’s discretion, the number
of games may be reduced and, the DSC is not liable for any expenses and
no refunds will be given.
B. Under no circumstances whatsoever Dixie Soccer Club, or any of
their official representatives be responsible for any expenses
(including the League entry fee) incurred by any team. This includes a
situation whereby the League or any game(s) is cancelled in whole or
part.
C. The DSC or their official representative's interpretation of the rules shall be final pertaining to the Senior’s League.
D. No items may be sold at playing fields, or surrounding areas for
the duration of League play unless specifically sanctioned by the Dixie
Soccer Club.
E. The Dixie Soccer Club will not be liable for any injuries
sustained by any participant in the Senior’s League on or off the
field.
F. All players duly registered with the Ontario Soccer Association
(OSA) and playing with the DSC are covered for medical and dental
coverage under the OSA’s master insurance policy for injuries incurred
during a scheduled game. This policy covers eligible treatment costs in
excess of those costs covered by OHIP and any private plans. Upon
request, the DSC will provide an insurance claim form which must be
completed and returned to the OSA who will then process the claim.
DISCIPLINE / SUSPENSIONS
A. All players discipline records shall be carried forward to the next season. All records shall be kept
B. A player receiving a RED card during a game is automatically
suspended for the next game. They may be required to attend a hearing
depending on the offence. The DSC will contact the Player and the Team
Captain/Official. All RED cards carry a $35 fine that must be paid at
the DSC Club Office before the player is eligible to play their next
game. Further disciplinary action may be imposed by the Discipline
Committee upon further review.
C. Accumulates 3 individual YELLOW cards during a season – one game suspension
D. Accumulates 6 individual YELLOW cards during a season – player must attend disciplinary hearing.
E. Failure to attend discipline hearing by Player, Captain or other
Team Official, will result in immediate suspension from the league and
further discipline action determined by the Discipline Committee.
F. If a game is abandoned, the representatives of the team, ie
Captain, Coach or Team Official is required to attend a disciplinary
hearing. Up to 6 points may be deducted from the Team causing the
abandonment.
G. ZERO tolerance towards any physical or verbal abuse/assault
towards any opponents, teammates or referee’s. Any team found guilty of
such actions will be ejected from the league and will forfeit the
team’s league fee.
PROTESTS
All protests will only be entertained if received within 48 hours
following the completion of the game in question. All protests must be
written and accompanied with the protest fee of $100.00 payable by cash
or money order only to the Dixie Soccer Club. Protest fee will be
totally refunded if the protest in question is deemed to be valid. The
decision of the referee regarding facts connected with a play is final.
The decision of the Senior Director with respect to the protest will be
final, but may be appealed to the Peel Halton Soccer association.
EVERY PLAYER/TEAM OFFICIAL SHALL BE DEEMED TO HAVE READ THE RULES. IGONORANCE OF THE CONTENTS SHALL NOT BE ACCPETED.
